Well, the second season of the garden is underway! I’ve built four additional beds for the garden (pictures later!). The spring crops are thriving right now; lettuce, potatoes, etc. Some seeds that have been planted and hopefully will sprout in the next two weeks are pumpkins, peas, winter squash, tomatoes, cucumber, watermelon, summer squash and a handful more. We’ve been getting excessive amounts of rain – good for tomatoes, not so good for pumpkins. Something I’m looking to try is adding very small amounts of Tree House’s compost to the garden. This should replace some of the nutrients lost from the garden last year. Additionally, planting peas will add nitrogen to the soil. I’ll update later with pictures!
